Päiväkirja - Katsolo, 06 loka 21

Water and muscle? That's what it says on the scale and it's been two days. What's going on? Tortilla soup and pumpkin pie guts. I know I'm super sensitive to sodium and it bothers my feet especially, so the processed crap will be gone soon enough. It's not a virtue signaling thing, it's my particular body. I've held steady through the pandemic, I'm not going to trend up. As imperfect as smart scales are, this is where it saves me. I can see the increase of 1.7 lbs of water. I can also feel it, but the point is that if I were looking at weight only, I might spiral into a hole of self-pity and eat a cake or something like that. It gets easier with the cool weather. I'll cook again and I make a pretty mean tortilla soup myself. I also have a big ol' thing of hatch chiles to work through. Yum.

Walked and ran with dogs last night, taught class, did some more Halloween stuff up on my roof, it looks cool. Also cleaned up some debris after the storm. It all adds up on both sides.

Muscle up, blob holding, water is like the freaking Salton Sea. Funny how you have to fight water with water.

Today should be more "normal" whatever that is. I have some non-urgent tasking and some personal stuff to attend to as well. I also need to claim my holidays early so I'm not stuck manning the phones. And I also have jury duty coming up. I don't usually mind, but the thought of spending hours in a room with strangers for a day is pretty unappealing to me in a pandemic since it's generally full of sick people in the winter normally. Trying not to think about it, but can't ignore it either.

Do you want Halloween pics from my neighborhood walks or not this year? My prop master house seems to have been sold, crushed over that, but there's still good stuff out there. I love seeing what creative minds come up with.

I've got jury duty too right away. First time... I haven't been called since I had little kids and a good excuse to not go. Now I just have lost wages every day I go, but... Civic duty and all that. I hope your day is great. I am glad you have a scale that shows you what is going on. You are always working hard for work and on you!

M, you should be dismissed fairly quickly as self-employed. They don’t like to harm small businesses. You may want to call ahead of time.
